THE WHY

The factory CCV system on the 2017-2023 L5P Duramax is designed to recirculate crankcase vapors back into the intake. Over time, this system fails from hot turbo pressure.  It essentially melts the boost flow control diaphragm and compromises the plastic ccv box.  This allows the hot boost pressure from the ccv port on the turbo to enter the factory ccv box, go through, enter the crankcase causing excess positive boost pressure to be introduced into the crankcase.  Not only that, when that diaphragm melts or the plastic becomes compromised, boost pressure it will re-enter in front of the turbo with excess oil.  Creating a never ending cycle robbing your engine of boost pressure.  CCV gas/oil leads to excessive oil buildup in the intercooler, intake piping, and turbo, reducing efficiency and potentially causing performance issues. This buildup can also contribute to carbon deposits on critical engine components, leading to long-term reliability concerns.
